▶ PHILOSOPHY ▶ SERVICES WE PROVIDE ▶ STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS ▶ MARKETING THE STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS “ Prospective clients often come to us at a time of change in their business. Our first step is to understand the client’s perspective, evaluate their present environment, and develop options for the client. Every step of developing alternative strategies must offer logical choices and identify not only the opportunities for achievement of the goals of the client, but also the potential for underperformance. While we offer our clients extensive financial and human resources in executing their plans, each client is offered the opportunity to develop a strategy that chooses the appropriate risk and reward.” Richard Glabman
STEP 1: Potential clients initiate contact with Deere Park Associates either directly through a telephone call or indirectly through independent third parties. All contact is under terms of confidentiality. Richard Glabman, the President of Deere Park Associates, personally talks with all potential clients, and reviews their current status and goals. If appropriate, reference material is sent to prospective clients providing information about the topics covered in the initial contact. Shortly after an initial telephone call or general meeting, Richard Glabman visits the client at the project location to evaluate objectives, refine alternative strategies, and review the physical environment. When appropriate, a preliminary financial projection of the intended project is developed. Meeting with clients, review of alternative strategies, and development of financial projections is without cost or obligation. STEP 2: Deere Park Associates executives meet with Richard Glabman and review information gathered during the client discussions and meetings. Strategies are refined, modified, or confirmed, based upon the goals of the client. If requested by the client, projections and plans are discussed with financial and legal advisors of the client. Development of alternative plans and contact with the client's advisors is without cost or obligation to the client. STEP 3: A detailed proposal or contract is presented for the client to review. Agreements are designed to be simple to understand, without the use of legal support, and reflect the verbal understandings reached in previous discussions. In development of the proposal or contract, legal counsel will not represent Deere Park Associates unless requested by the client. Development of the proposal or contract and review of its contents is without cost or obligation to the client. General time between Step One and Step Three is at the discretion of the client. Deere Park Associates will attempt to respond to the timetable of the client, but the development of a project from first contact to final plan is usually from one week to three months. STEP 4: Upon approval of the proposal or contract, Deere Park Associates’ team of professionals initiates background work on the project. This may include researching local area competition, negotiating advertising rates, and identifying additional potential personnel to be added for sales, administration or operations to be used in the project. When appropriate, Deere Park Associates may provide financial support to the client’s banking sources, landlords, or the home furnishing credit community until the start of the project. Deere Park Associates may also act as a credit guarantor for fulfillment of client outstanding sold orders. Continued confidentially is at the discretion of the client. When appropriate to the project, Deere Park Associates’ merchandise buying teams source merchandise to enhance the client’s existing resources, or assist the project. All additional inventory added to the project is based solely upon the credit of Deere Park Associates without financial risk or obligation to the client. STEP 5: As the date of the project draws closer, proprietary computer systems for tracking sales, margins, and inventory may be added to the client environment to ensure proper controls and information reporting. When appropriate, a comprehensive written marketing plan is presented for client approval. Trained and effective sales personnel, senior administrators and manual labor, sourced by Deere Park Associates are made available to support the project. Sales and administration personnel sourced by Deere Park Associates are carefully matched in a “team environment” to blend with the reputation and existing environment of the client. STEP 6: For sales projects with inventory management, a physical inventory is taken jointly by members of the client’s staff and Deere Park Associates personnel. Client supervision and participation in the count and pricing is anticipated to ensure accurate reporting. General time between Step Four and Step Six is at the discretion of the client. Deere Park Associates will attempt to respond to the timetable of the client, but the time between the approval of a plan to execution is usually from two to six weeks. STEP 7: Throughout the project, members of the Deere Park Associates senior management team, including Richard Glabman, are in constant contact with the client and its managers.
